Scholarship applications are due August 30, 2010. You should hear by no later than September 10, 2010 whether or not we are able to accommodate your request. If we are not able, we will still honor the early bird pricing for the event, should you wish to claim that. We would also encourage you to take a look at the volunteer page on this web site. We do receive many requests for scholarships, and our ability to provide scholarships is limited. Typically the scholarship committee will look for those applications that demonstrate the greatest need or undue hardship.

Purpose

The OD Network Board of Trustees established the OD Network Conference Scholarship Program to provide OD Practitioners and full-time students who are financially unable to fund their Conference registration the opportunity to attend the conference. We hope these scholarships enable recipients to reach a higher level of performance and enhance their knowledge of OD, so that they, in turn, are able to contribute more to their organizations, communities, and the field as a whole.

Criteria

The applicant should be financially unable to pay the registration fee and willing to share information about their financial need (Honor System: no documentation required).
The applicant must be an OD practitioner OR a full-time student in a graduate or post-graduate program in Organization Development.
The applicant must be a current member of OD Network for a minimum of one year as of the date on the application—or a member of a Regional OD Network.
The applicant must not have received a scholarship in the previous year.
Since we require no financial documentation, your explanation and honesty are appreciated.

Description of Awards

These scholarships tend to be highly competitive. While we wish we could provide all those who apply with assistance, those with the greatest need will be selected.
Scholarships cover General Conference registration fees only and are awarded by the OD Network on a space and funds available basis.
Recipients are responsible for their own travel and lodging expenses. Please note that the OD Network does have a roommate finder service available on the Conference website.
Recipients of this year's scholarships will not be eligible in future years.

Responsibilities of Recipients

Barring illness or unforeseen emergency, we expect that scholarship recipients will attend the Conference. In case a recipient is unable to attend, we urge them to notify us as soon as possible so that someone else may take their place

Notification of Selection

Applicants will be notified of Review Committee's decision no later than six weeks before the starting date of the Conference (or 4 weeks for in-state applicants)
The OD Network Scholarship Review Committee has final responsibility for selection of scholarship awards.

DO NOT register for the conference until you hear from us whether or not you have been selected. If you are not chosen for the scholarship and would still like to attend OD Network Conference 2010, the OD Network will honor the early bird member registration rate.
